In this digital age, pixels are our best friends.

Enter artist Shawn Smith, who creates wooden sculptures reminiscent of pixilated images on your web browser that has maxed out its view on zoom- only they’re real and 3d.

Using small pieces of wood as individual pixels to form one complete image, Smith’s work explores the intersection between the digital world and reality. Through his animals and biological subjects, he also challenges the idea of how we often experience nature through technology.
