Defenestration: the House of Falling Furniture

This seems like your most surreal dreams come true - furniture falling off buildings, but then never quite hitting the ground, suspended in mid-air like one of those Looney Tunes cartoons. Called Defenestration, this abondoned building in San Fransisco has been a sculptural mural since 1997.

This installation piece turns your everyday notions of what is ‘real’ upside down, and challenges notions of your ingrained perceptions. Defenestration was created with the help of over 100 people, and the word literally means ”to throw out of a window”. We feel Salvador Dali would be proud - who knows, maybe even intrigued.
